When faced with a lawsuit, you need to select the right defense lawyer -an experienced and well-qualified defense attorney who is prepared to aggressively defend you. It is important that your defense lawyer is a professional that you feel comfortable working with.

- Start your search for an attorney today, right now. Do not put it off.
- Get a notepad, and keep detailed notes.
- Write down a brief summary outlining your situation, making sure all-important facts are clearly documented.
- Make photocopies of all relevant documents.
- Contact the people that you respect and trust, and ask them if they knew a good defense attorney.
- Contact local legal aid society, and local bar association for a few referrals.
- Check with the local law library or a local verdict reporting service about a defense attorney's track record.
